Following a series of press events undertaken in London to attract national and international journalists visiting the Olympics a group of senior international Travel Editors visited the English Riviera.
On arrival they checked into the Palace Hotel and enjoyed a light lunch. They were then transferred to catch the Steam Train at Paignton Station along the beautiful English Riviera coastline to Kingswear. Here they boarded a Greenway Ferry to land at Greenway Quay. Following a tour of the house and garden the journalists enjoyed an exclusive private dinner in Agatha Christie’s Dining Room.
A very early start the next morning brought the Travel Editors to Brixham Fish Market where they were given a tour of the Fish Auction followed by breakfast at the newly opened Crab Quay House. A visit to the Golden Hind and a guided tour of the Harbour was followed by a trip on Greenway Ferry’s Fairmile to Torquay. A tour of Kents Cavern, an insight into the Global Geopark and lunch with a special welcome from the Mayor, Gordon Oliver completed this successful trip.
The trip was accompanied by the English Riviera PR team and the team from Visit England. The English Riviera Tourism Company has received rave reviews of the trip from Visit England and would like to thank all those who participated and supported this important PR initiative.
